About the Instructor

The instructor for the workshop is Fred Cutler, who is a Vocational Consultant with Cutler Counseling, LLC, located in Spokane, Washington.

Fred has been involved in vocational consulting for over 30 years, beginning with the State of Washington Dept. of Labor & Industries in 1975 as a Field Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. For the past nineteen years he has been an active consultant to insurance providers, injured party and attorneys regarding: employability, wage loss, labor market access, rehabilitation and claims management and providing expert testimony when required.

He earned his BA degree at Gonzaga and followed it with a M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling also from Gonzaga. Fred is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), a Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS) and a National Certified Counselor. He has been an active member of the National Rehabilitation Association and the Washington (State) Rehabilitation Counseling Association.

Continuing Education

3 hours of CEU have been applied for with CCMC, CDMSC, and CRCC.

Workshop Goals

1.      Attain familiarity with the administration, scoring, and interpretation of the testing instruments released for vocational counseling by the US Dept. of Labor: Employment & Training Administration.

2.      Increase awareness of the O*Net Vocational Data Base as a tool in vocational counseling.

3.      Learn the strengths and weaknesses of integrating test data with vocational data bases – old and new.
